Matrix Simplified Approach

Please make sure you are familiar with the Combat Basics and GURPS FOR DUMMIES materials. These are your best guides to how rules work in the game.
SIMPLIFICATION OF CHARACTER CREATION:
Before you think that this is a complicated version of GURPS, please note the following:
Use GURPS Lite rules and start with 100 starting points. (If you are experienced and would like to use more complicated character generation, please let me know, but it is not necessary.)

A printable version of the blank GURPS character sheet can be found here.
Use 50 extra starting points for downloaded skills that your character has been developing in Matrix simulations (and keep these in mind when using the 100 points). These can generally be any skills that you would use for GURPS. (Just think carefully about whether you will actually use the skills). If the 100 and 50 starting points sounds difficult to manage, just start with 150 points and let me know. (The difference between the homegrown/Matrix skills generally only comes into play outside the Matrix, but these times will be rare.)
The "Focus" Skill is special to the Matrix. Please read about it.
WHY IS THE MATRIX USAGE OF GURPS SIMPLE?
(1) It uses none of the following:
(2) It focuses on roleplaying, problem solving, and skills (such as, e.g., combat, technology).
(3) No difficult or complex backgrounds to learn.
(4) Rules for character development will be introduced gradually.
(5) Your characters will learn more over time. They are still young and fresh out of the Matrix. Just enjoy the ride and try to survive!
